🌍 Now used in 7 countries, with the team expanding

🤝 Growth built by staying close to skippers: a 14-day free trial, fast launches, and continuous improvement from feedback at sea

The platform is now used in 7 countries and combines digital decision-support tools for fishing vessels with a product approach built around close dialogue with skippers. As demand continues to grow, the team is also expanding.

A strong position in a demanding market

Catchwise has built a strong position in the Norwegian market, and it has not happened by accident. Growth has come from staying close to skippers, listening to what actually creates problems at sea, and building the product around those needs.

Happy customers spread the word, and a 14-day free trial has made it easy for sceptical skippers to see the value for themselves before committing.

New functionality is launched continuously and adjusted based on feedback from actual use at sea. That loop between development and the people using the product has kept Catchwise relevant and practical in a market that does not reward tools that look good on paper but fail on the water.

Built on the skippers' needs

Catchwise brings together premium satellite AIS, fishing activity, weather forecasts, ocean data and historical catch data in one platform. The purpose is to give skippers a better basis for making decisions by helping them see what is happening now, what has worked before, and where similar conditions may be developing. Most new users replace their existing AIS solution with Catchwise within 2–3 weeks, once AIS parity is confirmed.

We have gone all in on building a product skippers genuinely want to use. That means listening carefully, launching fast, and improving continuously based on feedback from the wheelhouse.Ludvig Løddesøl, Founder and CFO at Catchwise

Recent product development has focused in particular on helping skippers get more value from their own catch history. By linking historical hauls to factors such as currents, temperature and weather, skippers can learn from their own experience and apply the learning in practice.

This helps the skipper get access to relevant information faster, and that way they can make decisions about where to go next with more confidence.

Growing in Norway and beyond

Catchwise is now used in 7 countries, but Norway remains a key market. Reaching 30% of Norwegian skippers, and a substantially higher share in some segments, suggests the company has found a product approach that resonates with the fleet.

The reason we have gained traction is not that we try to build everything at once. It is that we stay close to skippers and keep improving the parts of the workflow that matter most in practice.Tomas Roaldsnes, CEO and Cofounder of Catchwise

Catchwise continues to grow, and is currently hiring new people and expanding its presence in more markets. By keeping the strategy of staying close to customers, moving quickly and continuously developing the product, Catchwise is becoming the trusted decision tool at sea.
